Olawepo-Hashim Supporters Dare Tinubu’s APC in South West

Tinubu 1 2

The Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement, GHSM, has thrown a political challenge to President Bola Tinubu’s administration in the South West, declaring that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, may be losing ground ahead of the 2027 elections

At a weekend rally in Osogbo, Osun State capital, GHSM leaders from all 31 Local Government Areas, party executives, community representatives, and youths gathered to present former presidential aspirant, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, as an alternative voice in national politics.

Olawepo-Hashim, who contested the 2019 presidential election under the People’s Trust before joining the PDP, was represented by his Chief of Staff, Kamaldeen Adebayo. He blasted the Tinubu administration, accusing it of corruption and mediocrity, and pledging to restore dignity, justice, and accountability if given the mandate.

GHSM leaders echoed the criticism. National Coordinator Abdulrazaq Hamzat described hunger, insecurity, and hopelessness as the order of the day, while South West Coordinator Alhaji Abass Olaniyi, accused Tinubu’s administration of serving only privileged interests.

With the PDP’s 2027 ticket still open, GHSM says Olawepo-Hashim is ready to contest. Osun State Coordinator Tajudeen Hassan urged members to take his message to every street and household, declaring that “2027 is our date with destiny.”

Speakers warned that the Osun rally may be the first spark of a wider political storm across the South West, long seen as Tinubu’s stronghold
