The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has declared that Mogajis (family heads) and Baales will henceforth be held accountable for any security breaches in their respective domains.

Naijaonpoint reports that Ladoja gave the warning at the weekend when he received scores of family heads and Baales at his Bodija residence in Ibadan.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Chief Solomon Olugbemiga Ayoade, and released on Sunday, the former Oyo State governor reminded the traditional leaders of their responsibility to safeguard their communities.

Ladoja declared, “You are the Chief Security Officers in your domains and as such, you will be held responsible for any security lapse in your areas.

“You should have the knowledge of the happenings in your environment and if you have any security challenge beyond your control, contact us, we will rise up to the occasion and assist you immediately.”

The Olubadan-designate urged Mogajis and Baales to remain vigilant and promptly report any activities that could threaten peace to security agencies.

He emphasised that traditional rulers must work closely with law enforcement to prevent avoidable crises.

Ladoja also pledged to create an enabling environment for investment in Ibadan and across Oyo State, stressing that he would not tolerate security breaches capable of discouraging investors.

He maintained that the cooperation of traditional leaders was vital to maintaining peace and order in the ancient city.
