Andre Onana has completed a loan transfer from Manchester United to Trabzonspor, the Turkish Super Lig club for which Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu plays.

The Red Devils confirmed the loan switch for the Cameroon goalkeeper tonight, after two years of error-strewn performances at the English Premier League club.

“Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has joined Trabzonspor on loan for the duration of the 2025/2026 season, subject to international clearance and registratio,” the club stated.

“The 29-year-old Cameroon international has made 102 appearances for the Reds since signing from Italian giants Inter in July 2023.

“In his first season at United, Andre was part of the squad that lifted the Emirates FA Cup following a 2-1 victory over Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.

“Onana will spend the 2025/2026 season in Turkey.

“Onana played 50 times in his second campaign and our no.24 has now agreed a loan move to Trabzonspor.

“The move has been completed ahead of the Turkish transfer window closing on Friday. We would like to wish Andre good luck.”

Onana arrived at United with fanfare to replace David de Gea after helping Inter Milan to reach the 2022/2023 UEFA Champions League final, but he has had a torrid time at Old Trafford, with his frequent howlers costing the Red Devils dearly.
