ONDO: 30 dead, two injured in Odigbo auto crash

No fewer than 30 passengers lost their lives in a road crash that occurred on Saturday evening at Mile 49, along the Lagos-Ore Expressway near Ore, in the Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Samuel Ibitoye, confirmed the incident with our correspondent on Sunday.

He disclosed that no fewer than 30 people were burnt beyond recognition in the accident caused by a head-on collision between two vehicles.

Ibitoye noted that the accident was caused by excessive speeding and traffic violations which led to a head-on collision between the two vehicles. He lamented that 30 out of the passengers in the vehicles were burnt to death.

The FRSC chief appealed to drivers to always exercise patience on the highway in order to reduce crashes to save lives and property.
