#OndoDecides2024: INEC Officials Arrive Early At Agboola Ajayi’s Hometown, Voting Set To Begin

Ad-hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) arrived early on Saturday with voting materials at Kiribo, Ese-Odo Local Government Area (LGA), the hometown of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Agboola Ajayi, as the governorship election commenced in Ondo State.

INEC officials and security agents reached Ajayi’s polling unit in Kiribo by 6:50 a.m., setting up for the exercise ahead of the scheduled voting time.

At Polling Unit 5, R.C.M. School, Ward 2, electoral officials were also present as early as 7 a.m., with voters checking their names on the voter register.

Presiding Officer Obiora Ben told Daily Trust that the accreditation and voting process would begin by 8:30 a.m., adhering to the election timetable.

Meanwhile, movement within the area has been limited following the restriction order on vehicular activities, but voters and residents were seen moving freely.

Combined security forces, including police and civil defence officers, are stationed at strategic locations and polling units to ensure law and order during the election.

Despite the restrictions, some shops in Kiribo and other parts of Ese-Odo LGA remained open for business, contributing to a calm atmosphere as residents prepared to cast their votes.
