Onitsha Market: Igbos Have Paid Enough In Blood And Sorrow – Aloy Ejimakor Sends Warning To Soludo

Legal consultant to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Aloy Ejimakor, has condemned the deployment of security agents to quell peaceful protests in Onitsha market by the Anambra State government.

Naijaonpoint reports that the Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo, had ordered the closure of the Onitsha Main Market for one week.

The development comes after traders failed to open shops on Monday, amid continued adherence to the sit-at-home directive by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The directive was announced after weeks of appeals by the government to traders, market leaders and residents to disengage from the sit-at-home order, which officials insist has no legal backing and has continued to cripple economic activities in the state.

Reacting, Ejimakor described the action of the soldiers drafted to the scene of the protest as unconstitutional and should be reversed.

Posting on 𝕏, Ejimakor said the failure to withdraw the security agents may result in loss of lives.

According to Ejimakor, Igbos have paid enough with blood and sorrow.

He wrote: “The deployment of security agents (particularly soldiers) to quell the peaceful #OnitshaMarketClosure protest is unconstitutional & should be reversed immediately.

“If not, it may result in loss of lives, which Ndigbo will never forgive. Igbos have paid enough in blood & sorrow.”
