MANCHESTER United are still in pursuit of Victor Osimhen and are considering a player-plus-cash swap offer to Napoli, involving Joshua Zirkzee, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian outlet reported on Tuesday that Dutch striker Zirkzee could be offered to Napoli in a player-plus-cash swap deal for Osimhen, after the Super Eagles striker rejected Al Hilal’s staggering €45m-a-year offer.
Gazzetta added that Osimhen is aware of Manchester United’s interest, and the Red Devils are now working on a first offer for the Napoli-owned striker.
The Red Devils, who are in desperate need of a proven goalscorer after their dismal campaign last season, are believed to be reluctant to match Osimhen’s €75m release clause, and would rather do a player-plus-cash swap deal.
According to the report, Zirkzee is one of the players who could be included in the offer from Manchester United.
Zirkzee scored seven goals in 49 appearances across all competitions with the Red Devils in their 2024-2025 campaign, in which they finished a historically low 15th in the English Premier League but reached the UEFA Europa League final.
Osimhen is one of the most prolific strikers in Europe at the moment, registering 37 goals and six assists in 41 appearances as Galatasaray won the Turkish Super Lig and Turkish Cup double.
Galatasaray had Osimhen on loan last season and are also reportedly working towards keeping him on a permanent basis.
