WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Red-hot Super Eagles marksman Victor Osimhen was in the thick of the action as Galatasaray put up a five-star performance against Eyupspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday, Footynaija.com reports. The unstoppable Nigerian striker scored one and assisted another as Galatasaray recorded a thumping 5-1 victory over their hosts to maintain their five-point lead over nearest rivals Fenerbahce at the summit of the Super Lig standings. Osimhen’s first goal involvement in the game came right on the half hour mark, following a corner-kick. The ever dangerous Nigeria international flicked the resulting cross onto the near-post where Rolland Szallai was lurking for an easy tap-in. He then got his goal in the 71st minute after receiving the ball from Alvaro Morata inside Eyupspor’s box. The 26-year-old got away from his marker with a superb piece of skill, saw his first shot blocked but made no mistake at the second time of asking. Lucas Torreira’s strike either side of Osimhen’s assist and goal, as well as Morata’s late brace within the space of three minutes completed the demolition job even as Luccas Claro grabbed a consolation goal for Eyupspor in the 79th minute. Osimhen’s goal was his 21st of the current Super Lig season and his 30th overall. The loanee has continued to enjoy a remarkable campaign in Istanbul as his stock continues to rise ahead of the coming summer transfer window. This win ensures that Galatasaray remain in the driving seat at the summit of the Super Lig standings with five games left to play. Given the level of consistency they’ve shown this season, their current five-point cushion should be enough for them to see out the rest of the campaign.
