Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has vowed to give his all to ensure Galatasaray successfully secure a 25th Super Lig crown that will see them earn the right to “wear the fifth star” on their barge, Footynaija.com reports.

Galatasaray are currently favourites to win the 2024/2025 Super Lig crown having amassed 83 points from 32 games. Their nearest rivals Fenerbahce are eight points behind with 75 points to their name. With only four Super Lig games remaining this season, the Lions stand on the verge of a third successive triumph.

Osimhen, who transferred to the Turkish capital club on loan, has been an immense part of their successes this season with a whooping 24 goals to his name so far. He recently surpassed his personal best tally in a single season with a brace in his last outing to bring his tally for the campaign to 33 and he now stands on the brink of smashing Mario Jardel’s all-time Galatasaray record of 34 goals in a single season, set in 2000/2001.

Despite all these, the unstoppable Nigerian hitman is fully focused on ensuring the Super Lig crown is successfully delivered to RAMS Park.

“Before coming here, I had no intention of surpassing anyone in terms of goal count, I was here to increase the quality,” he said at the launch of the commercial he played for Ülker as revealed by habersarikirmizi.

“We will wear the 5th star. We have 5 matches left, I am ready to give my all for the five matches. The important thing is Galatasaray’s success.”

Osimhen’s future hangs in the balance

Alongside Galatasaray’s imminent Super Lig triumph, Osimhen’s departure also looms as his loan deal will expire at the end of the season. Gala have made no secret of their desire to retain the services of the Nigerian goal-machine, who will certainly seal a permanent move away from Napoli this summer.

Despite Galatasaray’s desire to keep him in Turkey, many still expect Osimhen to make a return to one of Europe’s top five leagues this summer. The 26-year-old is not short of suitors either with some of the biggest clubs across La Liga, the Premier League, Ligue 1 and even Serie A, monitoring his situation.
