Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has once again waded into Osun State politics following the declaration of Senator Iyiola Omisore to contest the 2026 governorship election.

The Afrobeats singer reacted to Omisore’s post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, October 7, shortly after the former deputy governor publicly announced his ambition.

Omisore, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former National Secretary of the party, had shared pictures from an event in Osogbo where he officially declared his intention to run. Captioning ..., he wrote:

“The stage is ready. The mission is clear. History is about to unfold in Osogbo. Stay tuned — #OsunRescueMission begins today.”

Davido, whose uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, currently leads the state under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), responded with a short but cryptic message on his X page that read:

“BEFORE 12 pm 😀.”

... quickly drew attention online, with many social media users interpreting it as a subtle political dig at Omisore or a show of confidence in his uncle’s camp.

However, Davido has never hidden his loyalty to the Adeleke political dynasty and has often used his platform to voice support for the current administration in Osun.
