The All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial Delegate Congress Committee for Osun State has arrived in the state ahead of preparations for the party’s delegate congresses.
Led by its chairman, Sheu Umar Dange, the committee paid a courtesy visit to the state party leadership on Tuesday, December 9, at the APC secretariat located along Osogbo-Gbongan Road.
During the meeting with the Osun APC chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, and local government party leaders, Dange reiterated the committee’s commitment to transparency and fairness.
“We are ready to conduct the delegate congresses in all 332 wards in the state. Our activities will be conducted without bias, and we welcome any complaints to address them fairly,” Dange said.
He urged stakeholders to view their involvement in the exercise as a vital contribution to the party’s electoral strength.
Secretary of the committee, Chiedu Eluemunoh, added that mechanisms were already in place to ensure a smooth process, including the deployment of all necessary ad-hoc staff for the ward congresses.
He clarified that only revalidated members of the APC in Osun would be eligible to participate in the congresses.
“Being a party member does not necessarily mean one is revalidated. Only those revalidated will vote,” Eluemunoh stated.
He further announced that an Appeal Committee would be available to handle complaints from aggrieved members, with sittings scheduled to commence on December 10.
In his remarks, the Osun APC chairman, Lawal, welcomed the congress committee to the state and pledged the full support of the State Working Committee to ensure the success of their assignment.
