A former Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, gubernatorial candidate in the Osun 2022 governorship election, Engr Busuyi Ayowole, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu to beware of the Adeleke family.

Ayowole also revealed that he is considering seeking legal redress for the alleged malicious news against his candidacy, a day to the Osun 2022 governorship election.

In a statement obtained by DAILY POST on Thursday, Ayowole disclosed that the Adeleke family is sending their son Davido to liaise with President Tinubu.

He said, “I want to warn you about the Adeleke’s. They’ve been sending their son, Davido, to meet you in different places in Abuja and probably in Lagos. They’ve made several attempts to make sure they are able to reach you and have a close-range conversation with you.

“I would like to advise you, President Tinubu, be careful around the Adeleke’s because they’re smarter than you.”

He also warned that the family is versed in the art of betrayal because they have betrayed all their old friends, adding that the aim of the family is to outsmart Tinubu and take over Lagos State and instal their own loyalist as Lagos State governor.

“So, Dr. Deji is richer than you. He knows more politics than you, and he’s better than you in the art of betrayal. I mean, there are allegations that you betrayed some of the people who helped you on your way to the top. I see them as allegations. I don’t have time to look deeper into whether they are true or not. But the Adeleke’s — if it’s true that you’ve betrayed some of your old-time friends — then I can categorically tell you the Adeleke’s are smarter and better than you in the art of betrayal.

“Everybody they’ve met on their way to the top, they’ve betrayed — starting recently from Omisore and Adagunodo, you can continue to count them — all the people who have been at the forefront, fighting for them to take over power in Osun State — they’ve put everybody aside because they want to create an empire. They believe they own Osun State.”

Ayowole also urged Tinubu to attend to the complaints of Nigerians because the suffering in the country is creating room for hunger and anger.

“Nigerians are complaining. I will advise you, Mr. President, you need to do more. Nigerians are angry. Nigerians are hungry. A hungry man is an angry man. Nigerians are hungry and angry. Things need to be done differently and in a better way. You’re trying, but we want to see the results of your efforts in the daily life of ordinary Nigerians. It’s not about trying. It’s about achieving results; I won’t say the results are being achieved at the moment. Mr. President, you need to do better,” he said.

He also warned the Osun State All Progressives Congress, APC, against allowing Governor Ademola Adeleke in as a member, stressing that it will turn the state to a one-party state.

He said, “If the Adelekes are allowed to come into the APC, that means Osun State will become a one-party state—but we won’t allow that to happen.”

The statement is coming after pictures emerged on Tuesday evening of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, his elder brother, Dr Deji Adeleke and musician, Davido, visiting President Bola Tinubu in his Lagos home.

The picture has since sparked concerns as the Osun APC and former Speaker Osun State House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye, stated that Adeleke is not welcome, and that the 2026 governorship ticket of the party is not for sale to the Adeleke family.

Replying the Osun APC, the spokesperson to Governor Adeleke, Olawale Rasheed, in a counter statement, said the governor is okay in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and has no plans to defect to any other political party.
