The Osun State Police Command has arrested four undergraduate students who were found with a firearm, a cutlass, and charms inside a vehicle bearing the registration number ‘NANS 27Z D’ along the Osogbo-Ilesa Road.

The four students identified as Adewale Kehinde (25), Adebayo Ayuba (22), Olasupo Habeeb (22), and Adeniyi Mustapha (21) were intercepted with a Toyota Camry bearing a NANS-branded plate number. Found on them were an English Barreta pistol, two empty magazines, a cutlass, and charms.

Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, made this known while addressing journalists in Osogbo about the latest security achievements in the state.

He noted that two suspected cultists allegedly involved in the killing of one Awoniyi Kazeem during a masquerade celebration in Osogbo was also apprehended.

In a separate case, two other individuals were arrested for allegedly vandalising high-tension electricity cables in Osu, along the Ife–Ibadan Expressway.

According to Gotan, the suspects—Adeparusin Kehinde (23) and Ariyibi Dada—belong to the Eiye confraternity and were arrested after an investigation into the June 1, 2025, cult clash at Oke-Ola, Osogbo, which resulted in Kazeem’s death.

He noted that the duo were reportedly found in possession of three English-made Barreta pistols and two unregistered Qlink motorcycles.

Commissioner Gotan confirmed that all suspects would face prosecution once investigations are complete.

He reiterated the command’s commitment to tackling crime across the state.
