The Osun State Police Command has dismissed claims in a viral video alleging that travellers were attacked by bandits at Omi Funfun, Ora Igbomina, in Ifedayo Local Government Area of Osun State.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, he revealed that the alleged attack was not in Osun.
He said that the alleged attack occurred on August 18, 2025, in Rore/Arandun area, Kwara State.
DSP Abiodun warned the public to disregard the viral video, urging them to avoid spreading fake and unverified information.
According to him, “The Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, CP Ibrahim Gotan, mnips has put stringent security measure in place by deploying the Command Tactical squads and intelligence at the various borders of Neighboring States to reinforce security in Osun State,”.
