An HND1 student of Business Administration, Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree, identified as Ojubanire Rofiat Temilade, has called on Nigerians to come to her aid with Three Point Five Million Naira (#3,500,000.00) for leg surgery.
In an interview with campus reporter, Rofiat explained that “I was involved in an accident before starting my HND programme. Initially I didn’t realize the full extent of its impact but recently I have been experiencing severe pain which prompted me to visit the hospital here in Iree.”
“I recently had an X-ray and the orthopedic doctor informed me that my right leg bone is damaged, requiring surgery that costs ₦3.5 million.”
She added that when she was admitted to Ultimate Nursing and Maternity Centre at Eyinade in Iree, she received treatment for some days. Thereafter, the doctor noticed there was no improvement and she was referred to the Orthopedic Unit in Uniosun Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.
“I really need people to help me. I am in a difficult situation. This is beyond my parents capacity because it is not even easy for them to send me to school. Please I need help. The pain is too much for me. I don’t want to die,” Rofiat cried out.
She revealed that as of the time of the interview, the total money generated was the sum of One Hundred and Eighty-Seven Thousand Eight Hundred Naira (#187,800) out of Three Point Five Million Naira (#3,500,000.00).
When contacted by the campus reporter, the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Tope Abiola, emphasized that the school sympathized with Ojubanire Rofiat Temilade, adding that “we have been informed, we learnt about it and we sympathized.”
“Anybody who has assistance for her is allowed,” Tope Abiola said.
