Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has approved 17 new appointments across critical offices and institutions in the state, in what government officials described as a move to strengthen governance and improve efficiency.
Naijaonpoint reports that the announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Kenneth Kalu, who said all appointments take immediate effect.
The governor approved multiple appointments in the Protocol Department, with Uche Mark Nwosu named Chief Protocol Officer and Ikechukwu Nwankwo as Deputy Chief Protocol Officer.

Other appointees include Adaeze Ivy Iroegbu as Chief Moderator, Emmanuel Paul Irechi and Amarachi Inyama as Protocol Officers, alongside Augustine Chukwuebuka, also serving as a Protocol Officer.
Governing Council For Abia College Of Education
At the Abia State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu, Dr. Joe Emeson was appointed Chairman of the Governing Council, while Dr. Mrs. Idowu O. Eluwa emerged as the new Provost.
Abuja Liaison And Transport Corporation
Iheanyi Frank Chinasa was named Chief Liaison Officer/National Assembly Liaison Officer at the Abia State Liaison Office, Abuja.
For the Abia State Transport Corporation, Emmanuel M. Ufomba was appointed Chairman. Members of the corporation’s board include Godanswer P. Kalu, Mrs. Salomey Onwu, Kingsley Oriaku, and Onyebuchi Nna.
Other Strategic Appointments
Other appointments announced include Chima Raymond Ukwa as Special Assistant on Sports, Prince Christian Enwerenmadu as Special Adviser on Agriculture, and Mrs. Chinenye Nwaka as Senior Special Assistant on Women Affairs.
