Our Chairman Was Suspended Not Expelled, Says Abia ADC Group

The Suspended ADC Chairman

The Action Democratic Congress (ADC) Coalition Support Network in Abia State has denied reports of a faction within the party.

Speaking on Don 103.7 on Friday, Barr. Chidiakobi Eleseigwe, Coordinator of the network, said that Obinna Don Norman, the State Chairman, was suspended, not expelled, following petitions against him.

“There is no faction within the party in Abia State, Obinna Don Norman has been duly invited to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee to defend himself,” he said.

Eleseigwe clarified that Don Norman’s deputy, Kalu O. Kalu remains the legitimate Acting State Chairman, contrary to reports that Deacon Iyke Nwoke has taken over.

“Kalu O. Kalu is the Acting Chairman, and Don Norman’s suspension is still subject to review,” he said.

“If Don Norman is exonerated, he could be reinstated as Chairman. However, should he fail to honour the invitation of the disciplinary committee or be unable to satisfactorily clear the allegations against him, he will be removed from office,” Eleseigwe added.

The clarification aims to resolve confusion within the party and reassure members of the ADC’s stability in Abia State.
