Detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) PH, were swiftly mobilized to the factory, where thirteen (13) under-aged pregnant girls were rescued. Investigation is ongoing. 5. When a search was conducted on him, one locally made double barrel pistol was recovered from him. The suspect and exhibit are in Police custody for discreet investigation. 23. RESCUE OF KIDNAPPED VICTIM AND ARREST OF SUSPECT : – On 12th December 2024 at about 0205hrs, based on a credible piece of information indicating that, one Bagba Saviour ‘m’ of Nyokuru Bowe, Bori in Khana LGA of Rivers State, who had in his possession AK-47 Rifle conspired with his gang members and masterminded the kidnap of one High Chief Chikwe Sunday ‘m’ of Onne and kept him in their detention camp in a thick forest bordering Andoni, Nyokuru Bowe and Bonny communities. Operatives and personnel of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) embarked on a rescue operation where the said Bagba Saviour was arrested and the victim was successfully rescued unhurt while other suspects escaped with various degrees of bullet wounds. The suspect confessed to the crime but claimed to have just acquired the AK-47 Rifle. Efforts are being intensified to apprehend other members of the gang. Further investigation led to the arrest of the additional four suspects. The police are still working to apprehend other fleeing members of the syndicate.
Rivers State Command. He immediately held briefing with the Command’s
Management Team, Area Commanders and Tactical Team Commanders. The
Commissioner of Police commended officers for exhibiting high level of
professionalism in the discharge of their duties. He further directed that all
security arrangements were emplaced during the course of the controversial
local government elections be sustained while Area Commanders and DPOs to
ensure that the various LGA Secretariat in their AORs remain secured pending
further directives. The Commissioner of Police further charged officers to get
across to Headquarters for backup when the need arises. Tactical Teams were
directed to sustain the operation show of force and confidence-building patrols across the metropolis and environs as all are enjoined to make adequate plans
to protect Police facilities and critical Government infrastructures in their
respective AORs.
3. RAID OF CRIMINAL HIDEOUT/ARREST OF SUSPECT: – On 12th October 2024 at about 1430hrs, raid of an identified criminal hideout was conducted at Akpajo primary school field, old Refinery Road, Akpajo with a view to arrest one “Sinbad” a notorious sea pirate, kidnapper and armed robber. Upon the arrival of the team, one Bright Eke ‘m’, an associate of “Sinbad” was arrested and handed over to the Anti-Kidnapping (AKU) for further investigation. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the said fleeing Sinbad.
4. ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBER/ RECOVERY OF FIREARM: -On 12th October 2024 at about 0100hrs, through a credible piece of information, Operatives of Under-Cover of Okrika Division arrested one Bariyima Maxwell Nubor ‘m’. Upon conducting a thorough search on the suspect, one locally made pistol with two rounds (2) live cartridges were recovered from him. The suspect and exhibits are in Police custody, while investigation is ongoing.
2024 at about 1330hrs, the Command received a distressing report from Umuakonu community, Chokota Igbo-Etche in Etche LGA, through a written petition indicating the criminal activities of some land grabbers, who hired the services of some cultists to terrorize their community invaded and chased them out of their farmlands and sexually assaulted their women in their farmlands. Operatives attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Command were swiftly dispatched to patrol the area, and in the course of the patrol, the said hired cultists on sighting the Police took to their heels, but were given a hot chase which made them to abandon some of their weapons. Upon a thorough search, Twelve (12) pieces of dynamites, Six (6) caps, One (1) nonelectric detonator, One (1) cut-to-size short gun and Four (4) cartridges were recovered.
Meanwhile, the Command’s EOD-CBRN Unit has been contacted to confirm and take possession of the explosive devices. Efforts are intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
6. ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER: – On 17th October 2024 at about
1755hrs, Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU), while acting on actionable
intelligence, arrested one Blessing Akpelu ‘m’ a.k.a NTA, aged 20yrs and one Precious Ebee ‘m’, aged 30yrs, all natives of Egbeda community in Emohua LGA of Rivers State. The arrest of the suspects was informed by the kidnapping of a NYSC member and two others along the Elele/Omerelu/Owerri road and they specialized in blocking motorists along Owerri/ Port-Harcourt Expressway. The suspects confessed to the crime and they are giving the Police useful information that could lead to the arrest of other fleeing members of the gang and recovery of their operational weapons.
7. RAID OF CRIMINAL HIDEOUT/RECOVERY OF FIREARMS, AMMUNITION AND VEHICLE: – On 18th October 2024 at about 1855hrs, Operatives attached to C4i Strike Force raided a criminal hideout along Elechi beach and Nnanka waterfronts respectively. The hoodlums on sighting the Police Operatives took to their heels and abandoned one English made revolver pistol with thirty-five (35) rounds of 8.1mm live ammunition, one Excam- Hialeah pistol, with two (2) rounds of 9mm live ammunition and a blue colour Toyota corolla car with registration number BDG 44 HE, belonging to one JIviuboosun Usanavi Okuru of No. 24 Ada Williams that was robbed from him at gun point at Education bus-stop Port Harcourt. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing hoodlums and bring them to justice.
8. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT/ RECOVERY OF VEHICLE
AND STOLEN ITEMS: – In response to an armed robbery incident, reported by
one Abu Angel ‘m’, of plot 95 Tombia Extension GRA, Port Harcourt, on the 6th of
October 2024 at about 1325hrs, at Olu- Obasanjo Division that his wife Rachael Angel Abu ‘f’, of the same address boarded a taxi from Tombia extension to Salvation Ministry Church, where the taxi driver took her behind GRA branch of UBA PH, brought out a sharp knife and threatened to kill her with it if she refused to surrender her bag. The suspect robbed her of her iphone 15 valued N1,700.000, iphone-13 valued N850,000, Redmi phone-120 valued N200,000, one Air-pod generation valued N350,000, Access Bank ATM Debit Card, National ID Card, a Bible, N200,000 cash and 200 US-Dollars all contained in the wife’s hand bag and pushed her out of the car and drove off. On 19th October 2024, detectives from the Division trailed and arrested one Andrew Nwanna ‘m’ at Rumuosi Farm Road Port- Harcourt. During interrogation the suspect confessed to the crime revealing a conspirator one Garba Adamu ‘m’, a 38yrs Bureau De Change operator from Kano State who operates around the Hotel Presidential axis of Port Harcourt acted as the receiver of the stolen items and claimed to have sold them to one Mohammed of no fixed address at Rumuola, Port-Harcourt at the cost of One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira. He paid the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira to Nwanna and retained twenty Twenty Thousand Naira for himself as his commission.
Items recovered from the suspects include Air-pod and a black colour Toyota Corolla Car car with registration Number BRR 325 LN. Efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the gang and recover the remaining stolen items. The suspects and exhibits are in Police custody.
9. ARREST OF KIDNAPPER/ RECOVERY OF VEHICLE: – Operatives of the Command attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit acting swiftly in response to the
kidnapping of one Mrs. Charity Igbikiberebima on 30th October 2024 at about 1800hrs, launched into investigation and after an unrelenting pressure mounted on the suspected Kidnappers, the victim was released after payment ransom on 1st November 2024. Operatives trailed and arrested one of the kidnappers with the recovery of their operational vehicle. The suspect has confessed to the crime and is giving useful information to the Police that could lead to the arrest of other members of the gang.
10. ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER: – On 10th November 2024 about
2230hrs, one Daniel Onyeabor ‘m’, age 29yrs, who resides at No. 6A Redeemed Street
Elijiji Estate, Port Harcourt, reported at Elekahia division that, he was kidnapped on the 27th June 2024 and today 10th November 2024 he sighted one of the suspected
kidnappers. Operatives were swiftly mobilized to the area and the suspect who was later identified as Ikechukwu Anene ‘m’, aged 37yrs fromAnambra State but resides at Kom-Kom in Oyigbo LGA, was arrested. Meanwhile, a preliminary investigation revealed that,

ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS: – On 12th November 2024 at about 1400hrs, the Command received a distress call indicating that about ten (10) women, whose identities were yet unknown, were abducted in a farm by unknown gunmen and taken to unknown destination. A Combined team of Operatives from Eleme Area Command, Eleme Division and Youths from Aleto Eleme respectively were swiftly mobilized to the scene which led to the arrest of four (4) suspects namely, Tamunala Mbaka ‘m’ aged 30yrs, Moses Kalio ‘m’, aged 46yrs, Kalio Peter ‘m’, aged 43yrs and Tamunosiki Kalio ‘m’, aged 41yrs. Items recovered from the suspects were four machetes. Efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims. Meanwhile, the suspects were all transferred to the State CID for further investigation.

Operatives of the Command led by the DPO Bori were mobilized to the area and the hoodlums, on sighting the Police, opened gun fire on the operatives in a bid to escape, but there was an exchange of gunfire and in the process the said suspect was fatally injured and died on the way to the hospital, while others escaped with various degrees of bullet wounds. One AK-49 rifle, Two (2) magazines, Ten (10) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were recovered from him. The corpse is deposited at Bori General Hospital mortuary for autopsy. Meanwhile, investigation is ongoing to arrest other fleeing members of the gang and recover their operational weapons.

and Intelligence Team (SOIT) on the 6th November, 2024 at about 1900hrs mounted surveillance on this notorious syndicate led by one David Stephen a.k.a 2pac, and this enduring effort paid off as a member of the gang known as Benjamin Francis ‘m’, aged 28yrs of Lamuge town in Numan LGA of Adamawa State, but resides in Abuloma jetty PH, was arrested along Uruala by Nnewi, Mile-1 Diobu PH.
Upon interrogation, the suspect who is also a member of the Degbam cult group,
confessed to the crime that they specialized in robbing innocent citizens of their valuables such as handsets, gold necklace and bags within Education bus stop, Diobu Port Harcourt and his confession led to the arrest of three other members of the syndicate, one Christian Jonathan a.k.a Pilot ‘m’, aged 36yrs from Bakana in Degema LGA of Rivers State but resides at Ogu down Elechi Beach PH, David Stephen a.k.a 2pac ‘m’, aged 34yrs, the ring leader of the gang from Zakpor in Khana LGA of RVS but resides at Rumuosi Port Harcourt and Amos Promise ‘m’, aged 25yrs from Kpor in Khana LGA of Rivers State. On interrogation, all the suspects confessed to the crime. Efforts are ongoing to recover their operational weapons in custody of the gang’s armourer, Kento and also to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.

ARREST OF NOTORIOUS ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT/ RECOVERY OF FIREARM AND QUANTITY OF WEEDS SUSPECTED TO BE INDIAN HEMP: – On 18/11/2024 at about 2258hrs, acting on credible information, Operatives of Hawk Tactical team swung into action at St. Lorinta Street and arrested one Gabriel Morris ‘m’, aged 25yrs of Mercy Ground Kom-Kom in Oyigbo LGA of RVS. Items recovered from the suspect include one locally made pistol and quantity of weeds suspected to be Indian Hem. The suspect and exhibits are in Police custody, while efforts are intensified to arrest other members of the notorious gang and recover their operational weapons.
15. ARREST OF A NOTORIOUS ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT/ RECOVERY OF FIREARM AND QUANTITY OF WEED SUSPECTED TO BE INDIAN HEMP: – On 18/11/2024 at about 2258hrs, acting on credible and actionable information, Operatives of Hawk swung into action and arrested one Gabriel Morris ‘m’, aged 25yrs of Mercy Ground Kom-Kom in Oyigbo LGA of RVS, at St. Lorinta street. Items recovered from the suspect include one locally made pistol and quantity of weeds suspected to be Indian Hemp . The arrested suspect is said to have been terrorizing Oyigbo and its environs in recent times. The suspect and exhibits are in Police custody while efforts are being intensified to arrest other members of the notorious gang and recover their operational weapons.
16. RESCUE OF KIDNAPPED VICTIM AND RECOVERY OF OPERATIONAL VEHICLE: – On 17/11/2024 at about 2023hrs, following a distress call received from Command Control Room, indicating that a gang of armed men numbering about four,
operating with a black colour Toyota corolla, shot sporadically into the air to scare away passersby and kidnapped one Maduabuchi Julius ‘m’ at Sabbath Filling Station Oyigbo. A team of operatives swiftly swung into action, and after. given the hoodlums a hot chase, the gang were intercepted, along Egbu Street Oyigbo and in a gun duel that ensued, the hoodlums abandoned the victim and their operational vehicle, a Toyota Corolla Car with Reg. No. RIVERS, PHC 938 AH and escaped. The victim was successfully rescued and the vehicle was recovered. Efforts are in progress to arrest the fleeing hoodlums and recover their operational weapons.
17. RAID OF CRIMINAL HIDEOUT/ ARREST OF SUSPECTS/ RECOVERY OF
MOTORCYCLES/ WEEDS SUSPECTED TO BE INDIAN HEMP AND HARD
DRUGS: – On 24/11/2024 at about 2040hrs, Operatives from Hawk, raided an identified black spot and criminal hideout at oil well by Ogoni Camp, Umuebulu 2, in the Etche LGA of Rivers State and arrested one Victor Sunday ‘m’, aged 33yrs, Lazarus Anthony ‘m’, aged 66yrs and David Akpan ‘m’, age 28yrs while others
escaped. Items recovered from the suspects include one Red Colour Qlink Motorcycle with Registration Number HKW 118 QP, one Black colour Qlink motorcycle without reg no, large quantity of dry weeds suspected to be Indian Hemp, quantity of substance suspected to be hard drugs, one black colour mp3 music set. The suspects and exhibits are in Police custody for further investigation.
18. ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT/ RECOVERY OF FIREARM : On 26/11/2024 at about 1900hrs, following an intelligence received by
C4i (Zebra) Commander indicating that some hoodlums who are in possession of firearms were gathering to unleash harmon unsuspecting members of the public. Operatives led by the Commander were mobilized to the area and the hoodlums, on sighting the Police, took to their heels, but were giving a hot chase and one Loveday Ogbonda a.k.a Cyber of Elekahia axis was arrested and a locally made Barretta pistol was recovered from him. Investigation is in progress to arrest other fleeing suspects.
19. ARREST OF KIDNAPPING SUSPECT AND RESCUE OF 10YRS OLD VICTIM: – On 4th December 2024 following a report by one Mrs. Florence Jonah ‘f’ of Redeem Camp Aluu Junction, Port Harcourt that, her 10yrs old son Emmanuel Jonah ‘m’, was kidnapped by unknown person/persons on 25th November 2024 and were demanding for a ransom of 5-million naira before he would be released. Operatives swung into action and arrested one Nwile Bete ‘m’, aged 30yrs of Rumuekeni School Road Street. On interrogation, the suspect led operatives to Sogho village of Khana LGA where the victim was rescued successfully. The suspect is in Police custody while investigation is ongoing to arrest other members of the gang.
20. ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS AND RECOVERY OF FIREARMS: – On 10th December 2024 at about 1730hrs, patrol team from Anti-Cultism Unit
(ACU) while on routine patrol, along Elele-Obelle Road, arrested one Micheal
Etunnu ‘m’, aged 40yrs, Wisdom Uchenndu ‘m’, aged 27yrs, and Ogechi Kaja ‘m’,
aged 38yrs, all of the same address. Upon a search on them on a ground of suspicion, One cut-to-size locally made single barrel gun, one locally made revolver pistol, one live cartridge and one machete were recovered from them. They confessed being members of a kidnapping syndicate that has been terrorizing the area in recent times.

During the operation, one Chinoyerem Wowo ‘m’, aged 26yrs, native of Umu Agbayi community, Success Mike ‘m’, aged 28yrs, native of Opereza community Warri, Delta State but resident at Yellow Fuel Station, Afam, Nkemgika Sunday ‘m’, aged 26yrs, native of Ukam community, Nkparani LGA, Akwa-Ibom State, resident at Umuchi Community and Theophilus Kershima ‘m’, aged 32yrs, native of Alide community, Benue State, but resident at Unpadec, Umuchi community were arrested. Items recovered from them include two sets of locally constructed crude oil Bunkering ovens. Investigation is ongoing, efforts are intensified to arrest other members of the syndicate and recover other exhibits.
24. ARREST OF SUSPECTS AND RECOVERY OF EXHIBITS:
Operatives of the Command attached to Hawk acting on a credible piece of information arrested five suspects and recovered a stolen vehicle. The suspects, Timothy Oguzie ‘m’ aged 47yrs an indigene of Mberi Community in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State but resident at NO 15 Royal Highness, off Iwofe road Port Harcourt, Wale Ajayi ‘m’, Telema Mark Balm ‘m’, Chijioke Azubuike ‘m’, and Ubong Emmanuel Peter ‘m’ are currently in police custody.
The arrest was made possible by a tip-off, which led the operatives to trail and apprehend Timothy Oguzie, on December 28, 2024. During interrogation, Timothy Oguzie confessed to stealing a blue colour Toyota Corolla Car with Registration Number GGE 284 DV from Jonathan Ohemdi Uche in January 2023.
