Oyo LG polls: OYSIEC begins counting, announcement of election results [PHOTOS]

The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has commenced counting votes and announcing election results in various parts of the state.

DAILY POST reports that the commission conducted the local government election in all 33 local government areas of the state on Saturday.

Our correspondent observed the counting and announcement of results in some polling units in Ibadan, the state capital, including Ido, Ibadan North, Ibadan North East, Ibadan South East, Ibadan South West, and Ibadan North West local government areas.

Elections have concluded in some polling units, with officials of the commission beginning the process of counting and announcing results.

DAILY POST notes that election results have been declared in some polling units in Ibadan North local government area, as well as in other local government areas.

Our correspondent, who visited Ward 9 in Ibadan North local government, reports the announcement of election results in some polling units.

For instance, in Ward 9, polling unit 6 in Ibadan North local government, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured 40 votes in the chairmanship election, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) obtained 10 votes. Three ballot papers were voided. Similarly, in the councillorship election, PDP, received 40 votes and APC received 11 votes, with two ballot papers voided.

In Unit 5, Ward 9 of Ibadan North local government, PDP garnered 117 votes in the chairmanship election, compared to APC’s 9 votes. Four ballot papers were voided. In the councillorship election, PDP got 110 votes and APC received 15 votes, with one ballot paper voided.
