Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Chris Okafor, was absent in Monday at the police station where he was invited over multiple allegations of rape and other offences likely to cause a breach of public peace.
An officer at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the cleric did not appear as scheduled.
“Following the CP’s directive, the DCP instructed the unit handling the case to debrief him, but he did not appear. As of evening, it was evident he would not attend today,” the officer said.
Another source familiar with the matter disclosed that Okafor allegedly sent representatives to the police to request more time.
“We received calls from his aides asking for an extension and assuring authorities that he would eventually report. That is the latest update we have,” the source said.
The Lagos State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement on the development.
