The Oyo State Police Command says it has tightened security ahead of the 2025 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention, scheduled for Saturday, November 15, and Sunday, November 16, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The command’s spokesperson, Osifeso Adewale, in a statement shared on X on Friday, said the police are ramping up security measures to guarantee a safe and peaceful event.
The police also noted that the convention is expected to attract key political figures, international observers, media representatives, guests, and participants from across the nation.
The statement further explained that the command has developed a robust security strategy in partnership with other security agencies ahead of a large turnout.
According to the statement, the strategy includes proactive patrols designed to build public confidence, increased surveillance activities, and intelligence-driven stop-and-search operations throughout the state.
It added that security will be even tighter at entry and exit points into Oyo State, especially around Adamasingba.
“We encourage members of the public to explore alternative routes from the venue in a bid to prevent any potential disruptions in their movement plans for the period in view.
“Members of the public can reach the Oyo State Call Response Center via the toll-free line 615, or contact the Police Command Control Room on 08081768614, 09054133071, and 09061299291,” the statement said.
