PDP Governors Commend Agbu For Exemplary Leadership, Development

The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) has commended their Taraba State counterpart, Governor Kefa Agbu, for transforming the state within his first 12 months in office.

The PDP governors expressed admiration on what the governor has achieved especially in the areas of health, education, road infrastructure among other areas they said have felt the positive transformation from Agbu’s leadership.

The governors made this commendation in a statement signed by the Director-General of the PDP-GF, Dr. Emmanuel Agbo.

The state said, “The Forum joins his family, friends, and the people of Taraba State, both at home and abroad, in thanking the Almighty God for His love, care, guidance, and protection in Governor Agbu’s private and public life.

“We are proud of the significant strides his administration has made in just over a year, especially in the areas of education, healthcare service delivery, culture and tourism, security stabilisation, foreign and local investment, agriculture, and agro-based prioritisation, MSME promotion, civil service reforms, improved staff welfare and wages, and the empowerment of women and youth, among others.”

The statement further highlighted the Governor’s Free and Compulsory Education Policy, which has greatly increased school enrollment and reduced the number of out-of-school children.

“Annual convocations are now mandatory for all tertiary institutions in the state, ensuring timely graduation ceremonies and reinforcing academic standards,” it noted.

It also pointed to the state’s economic growth, which has attracted Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the mining and agriculture sectors. This has created job opportunities, developed local talent and skills, and promoted digital literacy programs to enhance small businesses and ICT.

“The infrastructural enhancements and improved road networks have transformed Taraba’s landscape, improving connectivity and accessibility, which has had a positive impact on the lives of the people,” the statement added.

Additionally, the revamped healthcare sector has ensured quality and accessible healthcare for all residents of Taraba, who also benefit from robust security measures that safeguard their well-being and maintain peace and unity in the state.

The Forum prayed for God’s continued grace and fortitude for Governor Agbu to lead Taraba State to even greater heights.
