The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that the main committee for its 2025 National Convention Organizing Committee will be inaugurated on Tuesday, 2nd September, 2025.

The announcement was made in a press release on Thursday by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba.

He stated that the inauguration is in line with the approval of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

Naijaonpoint reports that the inauguration will hold at 12 noon at the NEC Hall, PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

“The 110-member PDP 2025 National Convention Organizing Committee has His Excellency Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State as Chairman, His Excellency Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State as Vice Chairman and His Excellency Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State as Secretary.

“The NWC charges all leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of the PDP to remain united, focused and continue to work together towards the success of the PDP 2025 Elective National Convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital on Saturday, 15th to Sunday, 16th November, 2025,” the statement read in part.

Meanwhile, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo, has stated that Nigerians would not vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 presidential election.

According to him, Nigerians want alternative politics and the PDP is not an option.

Naijaonpoint reports that he argued that the opposition party’s decision to zone its presidential ticket to the southern part of the country ahead of the 2027 elections would not work in its favour at the polls.

Speaking during an interview appearance on Channels Television on Wednesday, the SDP chieftain maintained that the PDP and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are the same company for now, and Nigerians deserve a new and better direction.
