The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed the screening of aspirants for the 2025 Elective National Convention.

Naijaonpoint reports that the screening, which was earlier scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025, was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, according to a statement on Monday signed by the Chairman of the PDP National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC) and Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri.

He noted that a new date for the exercise would be communicated and apologised for any inconveniences caused.

Fintiri, however, assured of the readiness and commitment of the party to hosting a credible convention in Ibadan on November 15 and 16.

“The National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) of our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has put on hold the screening of aspirants for the 2025 Elective National Convention, earlier scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025 due to unforeseen circumstances.

“A new date will be communicated once fixed. The NCOC regrets any inconveniences caused by ...ponement.

“All Aspirants and members of our Party should note the foregoing and be guided accordingly.

“The NCOC remains committed to delivering a credible, hitch-free 2025 Elective National Convention on Saturday, 15th to Sunday 16th November, 2025 in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital,” he wrote.

It would be recalled that the PDP had earlier appointed former Ondo State gubernatorial candidate, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), as Chairman of its Screening Committee ahead of the party’s elective convention.

Other members of the committee include Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa as Deputy Chairman, Asue Ighodalo as Secretary, and Jacob Otorkpa as Deputy Secretary.

Also on the panel are Emmanuel Enoidem, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Chief Aduke Maina, Iyom Josephine Anenih, Achike Udenwa, Maryam Ciroma, Felix Hyat, Zainab Maina, and Chinedu Nwachukwu, who will serve as member/administrative secretary.
