PDP Reacts To Atiku’s Resignation

Atiku 11

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to the resignation of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from the party.

Naijaonpoint reports that a senior member of its National Working Committee, in an interview with Vanguard, called on Nigerians to look beyond Atiku’s departure and focus on the growing hunger and hardship in the country.

Speaking in Abuja, the official said the country’s media and citizens are paying too much attention to political movements instead of the harsh living conditions many Nigerians are currently facing.

The PDP official said that Atiku’s exit did not come as a surprise, pointing out that the former vice president had left and returned to the party several times in the past.

“Atiku’s departure from the PDP is nothing new. Hasn’t he left the party before? Did anything fundamentally change?”

“Meanwhile, people are hungry. Are our lives solely defined by politicians switching parties?” the official asked.

Meanwhile, the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has dismissed the exit of former presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He asserted that it is better for individuals holding the party down to quit, adding that everyone has free entrance and exit.

The Governor stated this in Akure, the Ondo state capital, during an interview with journalists at the 10th anniversary of the rulership of the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi.
