The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that it will inaugurate its National Convention Zoning Committee (NCZC) on Thursday, August 14, 2025, as part of preparations for the party’s 2025 Elective National Convention.
Naijaonpoint reports that the development marks a significant step in setting the stage for what is expected to be a pivotal convention for the country’s main opposition party.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by the PDP’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, and shared via the party’s official 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the event will commence at 12 noon at the NEC Hall, Wadata Plaza, the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
“This is to formally inform and invite all our governors, BOT, NWC, NEC, serving and former NASS members, and all our stakeholders to the inauguration of the National Convention Zoning Committee (NCZC) of our great party,” Bature said.
The party also announced that PDP governors, members of the Board of Trustees (BOT), the National Working Committee (NWC), the National Executive Council (NEC), serving and former members of the National Assembly, and other top stakeholders are expected to attend the occasion.
Naijaonpoint had earlier reported that PDP announced that its elective national convention would take place on November 15-16, 2025, in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
