The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that it will formally present the Certificate of Return to its Ekiti State governorship candidate, Dr Oluwole Oluyede, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 2 pm at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong.
“Following the successful conduct of the Ekiti State Gubernatorial Primary Election of our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party and the Appeal Panel ratification, the National Working Committee hereby schedules the Presentation of Certificate of Return to our Candidate, Dr Oluwole Oluyede, for the June 20, 2026 Governorship Election in Ekiti State,” the statement read.
The PDP has invited members of its National Executive Committee (NEC), governors, former and serving lawmakers, Board of Trustees (BoT) members, and other key stakeholders to witness the presentation.
The party described the event as a strategic move to rally its structures in preparation for the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State.
Dr Oluyede, a medical practitioner, emerged as the PDP governorship flagbearer in Ekiti after a tightly contested primary held on November 8, which extended into the early hours of November 9.
He secured 279 votes to defeat his closest rival, Funso Ayeni, who garnered 239 votes, while Funmilayo Ogun scored 17 votes.
