Nollywood actor, Taiye Arimoro, has questioned the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), the Directors Guild of Nigeria, and the Association of Movie Producers (AMP) regarding his suspension.
The AGN, DGN and AMP, in a joint statement on Friday, suspended Arimoro over an altercation on a movie set with his colleague, Peggy Ovire.
Naijaonpoint reports that the statement shared on social media by AGN president, Emeka Rollas, disclosed that the decision to suspend Arimoro comes from responsibility, compassion, and a desire to restore trust” within Nollywood.
According to the joint document dated 27 November 2025, the three guilds reviewed the findings of their disciplinary committees and concluded that Taiye Arimoro was the primary aggressor in the incident.
Arimoro was found to have assaulted the production manager and the driver, and also circulated a misleading live video that misrepresented the events and falsely dragged producer Peggy Ovire into the issue, even though she was not present during the initial altercation.
The guilds issued a unified decision suspending the movie star from all Nollywood productions until further notice.
According to the Guild, Arimoro is expected to make a public apology to the production manager, Peggy Ovire, and the director, and to release a corrective video stating the actual sequence of events.
Taiye Arimoro has also been directed to return and complete his remaining scenes of the movie under supervised conditions, and to comply fully with any further instructions from the guilds.
In response, Arimoro, in a post via his Instagram story, asked the AGN, DGN and AMP the basis of their investigation.
He wrote, “Can someone please tell these ones to stop playing..? What was the basis of your investigation please..? Omo me, I think I’m in the mood for an IG live.”
