‎Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Mrs. Omolola Oloworaran, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, pledging a new era of transparency and collaboration.

‎Mrs. Oloworaran said her visit was meant “to correct the missteps of the past and build a mutually beneficial relationship,” stressing that contributors’ funds remain safe under strict safeguards managed by Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs).

‎But Ajaero cautioned PenCom against sidelining labour.

‎“Taking on the Nigeria Labour Congress unjustly could be a costly venture,” he warned, recalling past violations of the PenCom Act and government’s disregard of NLC complaints.

‎He, however, welcomed the DG’s rapprochement, noting:

‎“There are serious challenges ahead, but with sincerity and genuine partnership, we can address them for the good of Nigerian workers.”
