Italian Serie giants AC Milan wrapped up their Far East preseason tour in emphatic fashion with a 9-0 thrashing of Perth Glory, Soccernet.ng reports.
While the scoreline was staggering, it was also a chance for individual players to make a statement ahead of the new season.
One of those players was Super Eagles attacker, Samuel Chukwueze, who had a lively 45-minute outing and capped it off with a memorable goal.
A ruthless AC Milan performance
The Rossoneri wasted no time asserting dominance in Western Australia. Filippo Terracciano opened the floodgates early, followed by a Noah Okafor brace and a cheeky panenka from Christian Comotto.
But the pick of the first-half goals came from Chukwueze, who cut in from the right and rifled a left-footed shot into the near top corner.
Per Sempremilan, Milan led 5-0 at halftime and added four more in the second half through Rafael Leão, Rafael Leão, Samuele Ricci, Yunus Musah, and others.

How did Chukwueze perform Vs. Perth?
Per stats from Sofascore, Chukwueze was a constant thorn in the side of Perth Glory during his 45-minute appearance.
The former Villarreal forward operated from the right flank and looked sharp. He was always eager to take on his man or cut inside with intent, as usual.

The spotlight came when he danced inside from the wing and unleashed a thunderous left-footed strike into the roof of the net.

He also delivered two accurate crosses, created one key chance, and successfully beat his man in his only dribble attempt.
While he did lose possession seven times and missed one big opportunity, his overall contribution was a net positive.
This was the kind of performance that caught the eye and reinforced his readiness to play a bigger role in the upcoming campaign.
Is Eagles star rewarding Allegri’s faith?
Following a dismal season in Milan, Chukwueze appears to be entering the new campaign with renewed determination to get a first-team shirt.

Massimiliano Allegri’s decision to start him in this friendly sparked a sign of trust, and the Nigerian winger repaid that faith with a standout performance.
To get his wish under Allegri now depends on Chukwueze, and the ball is in the coach’s court to turn him into an attacking weapon this coming season.
