Nigerian singer Peter Okoye has reacted to his wife, Lola Omotayo Okoye, spending Thanksgiving with her former sister-in-law, Anita Okoye, and her kids in the US.
Kemi Filani reported that Anita had shared a video of her Thanksgiving celebration. She had spent the memorable day with her kids, friends and Lola.
Taking to her comment section, Peter Okoye wrote, “Family”.
Anita responded, “Fam Bam”.
This is coming days after Lola had sparked reactions with her birthday message to Peter. She shared a photo of the singer, describing him as just the father of their beautiful children and offering prayers for him. See message here. This raised eyebrows among netizens as they noted how she didn’t acknowledge him as her husband or partner.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see Lola shower love on Anita Okoye, as she remains loyal to Anita despite her split from the singer.
When the news of Paul’s remarriage made rounds online, Lola, shared a video of her living her best life with a caption stating that she was just living and minding her business.
Not done, Lola had thrown shade as she hailed Anita, calling her the one and only.
Last year, when, Anita bagged a Master’s Degree in Arts and Design from Savannah College, Lola had showered praises on her. She expressed her pride in her, and affirmed her love for Anita, calling her a complete package.
Also, last year, Peter had dropped birthday wishes for Anita’s twins as he expressed love for them.
To celebrate Anita’s birthday in November, Lola expressed how proud she was of her and praised her parenting skills.
Reacting to it, Anita expressed how grateful she was to have her as a big sister. She appreciated her for her unwavering support, for always championing her cause, and for her heartfelt prayers. She described Lola as the embodiment of sisterhood and rained prayers on her.
Recall that Anita filed for divorce in 2022 on the grounds of cheating, separation, being an absentee father, fraud, and difficult experiences. A year after she filed for divorce, an Abuja High Court sitting in Maitama granted Anita and Paul Okoye a divorce, with a monthly settlement of $20,000 and a number of her husband’s mansions.
Paul had swiftly moved on with model, Ivy Ifeoma who he got married to in May of 2024, and welcomed a child with.
The former couple kept things amicable despite their divorce until in August, 2024 when they unfollowed each other after Paul bought a second mansion in the US, presumably for his then pregnant wife.
