Jude Okoye, the elder brother and former manager of Peter and Paul Okoye of the defunct music group P-Square, was remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility on Wednesday, February 26. During the bail hearing, Rudeboy stated his willingness to stake one of his properties in Ikoyi, Lagos, to secure Jude’s release on bail. He said, “My Lord, I have here with me documents for one of my properties located in Ikoyi, valued at several billion naira, and I’m willing to offer it to the court. Please release my brother to me on bail today.” Speaking outside the court premises, Rudeboy claimed that his twin brother Peter is responsible for putting Jude in this situation. He stated, “It’s Peter who is doing this. He’s putting him in prison, and I’m here to bring him out.” Jude Okoye is facing trial alongside his company, Northside Music Ltd, before Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court in Lagos on a seven-count charge. The EFCC began investigating Jude after Peter Okoye filed a petition with the agency regarding a “secret company” he discovered, which listed Jude and his wife, Ifeoma Okoye, as founder and director. This investigation was part of Peter’s effort to trace the whereabouts of some of P-Square’s royalties. After Jude’s arraignment on February 26, Paul Okoye posted a cryptic message on his Instagram Story, believed to be directed at Peter. He wrote, “This is exactly what he wants. This too shall pass. Stay strong, brother @judeengees.”

Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, has secured the release of his elder brother Jude Okoye from custody by staking his property in Ikoyi as surety.
This followed his arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of money laundering involving N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59.
He pleaded not guilty to all the charges, and the court scheduled a bail hearing for Friday, February 28, 2025.
