President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, recently paid a visit to injured Super Eagles forward, Moses Simon, who is currently recovering from an injury sustained during an international friendly clash against Mali, Soccernet.ng reports.
Simon, the former Levante forward, was forced off the pitch after colliding with the opposition’s goalkeeper in the 33rd minute of the encounter, which resulted in a fractured fibula.
But this should have been a penalty to Nigeria 🇳🇬.

Consequently, the 28-year-old forward will be sidelined for the next three months, missing the remainder of the season.
In response to the injury, FC Nantes, Simon’s club, released a statement expressing support for the player’s recovery.
“Moses Simon was injured yesterday against Mali. Our Nigerian striker suffers from a broken fibula which means the end of the season,”
“FC Nantes is already keen to provide its full support to its attacker and wishes him a speedy recovery!” the club statement reads.
As part of his efforts to check on the welfare of players, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau visited Moses Simon in Nantes, France, to assess his recovery progress.
Gusau shared the visit on his social media page, with Simon expressing gratitude for the gesture.
“A visit to Moses Simon today in Nantes France, to see how he is recovering from his injury” Gusau wrote, Simon, responding said “Thanks for coming presido”

Due to the injury, Simon will be unavailable for Nigeria’s upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin Republic.
