Former Vice President, Arc. Namadi Sambo, has reaffirmed his unwavering membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring that he remains a loyal member of the party and will continue to be so throughout his political life.
He also pledged his full support for the rebuilding and repositioning efforts of the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki–led National Working Committee (NWC).
Naijaonpoint reports that Sambo made this declaration while receiving members of the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party who paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Abuja.
Earlier in his remarks, the National Chairman of the PDP, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, expressed appreciation to the former Vice President for the sacrifices he, alongside others in the Jonathan administration, made to sustain Nigeria’s democracy, particularly in 2015.
He explained that the visit was to brief him on the prospects and challenges facing the party and to seek his support for the party’s rebuilding plans and programmes.
Also speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara; Senator Jonah Jang, former Governor of Plateau State; Professor Jerry Gana, former Minister of Information; Hajiya Inna Ciroma, former Minister of Women Affairs; and Hon. Frederick Agbedi, Leader of the PDP Caucus in the House of Representatives, jointly expressed optimism about the future of the PDP.
They noted that the former Vice President’s support would further strengthen the ongoing efforts to reposition the party ahead of forthcoming elections.
Naijaonpoint understands that the PDP continues its nationwide consultative meetings with critical stakeholders as part of its broader strategy to rebuild, strengthen, and reposition the party for the future.
