PHOTOS: First Lady, Remi Tinubu Leads Condolence Visit To Aisha Buhari In Daura

The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, alongside the Governors’ Wives Forum, paid a condolence visit to Aisha Buhari on Saturday, following the passing of her husband, former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Naijaonpoint reports that former President Muhammadu Buhari passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in a London hospital.

His remains were subsequently flown to Daura, Katsina State, where he was laid to rest on July 15, 2025, in a solemn and emotional ceremony that attracted several dignitaries.

As the nation continues to mourn, numerous dignitaries, including political figures, military leaders, and citizens, have travelled to Daura to offer their condolences to Aisha Buhari and the Buhari family during this difficult time.

Oluremi Tinubu, along with the Governors’ Wives Forum, visited the bereaved family to express their sympathy and support.

The condolence visit is part of the wider effort to honour the legacy of the late president and offer solace to his family.

During the visit, the First Lady and her delegation shared words of comfort, emphasising the unity and strength of the Buhari family as they navigate the loss of their patriarch.

In a statement released on her official 𝕏 handle, Mrs Tinubu wrote: “Today, I paid a condolence visit to Daura, Katsina State, to commiserate with the beloved widow and family of our dearly departed former President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.

“I was with the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, Wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hajia Fatima Tajudeen Abass, Wife of the Deputy Senate President, Hajia Laila Barau, Wives of various State Governors, Wives of Ministers, Wives of Service Chiefs and many other women.

“President Buhari was not only a statesman but a symbol of integrity, discipline, and devotion to Nigeria. His life was marked by unwavering commitment to nation-building, public service, and the welfare of the common man. He served our nation with honour both as a military leader and a democratically elected President.

“During the visit, I conveyed the deepest condolences of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the women of the nation to his widow, Her Excellency Hajiya Aisha Buhari, and the entire Buhari family.

“We pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants him Al-Jannah Firdaus.”

Meanwhile, two prominent Nigerian politicians, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Bukola Saraki, have paid separate condolence visits to the family of former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.

Naijaonpoint reports that their visits came in the wake of Buhari’s passing, which has continued to draw tributes and sympathies from across the country and beyond.

Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, arrived in Daura on Saturday to personally sympathise with the late president’s family.

He was received by members of the household and the former leader’s political associates, who offered him words of comfort.

Shortly after, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, also visited Daura to condole with the bereaved family. Saraki, who served in various political capacities under past administrations, hailed Buhari’s dedication to national service.

The condolence visits by the two political figures add to the growing list of dignitaries who have trooped into Daura since the announcement of Buhari’s passing.
