Phyna’s Sister Ruth Dies Weeks After Dangote Truck Accident
Ruth Otabor, the younger sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, has sadly passed away from injuries she sustained in a road accident in Edo State.
The accident happened on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, near Auchi Polytechnic, just a few days after Ruth had celebrated completing her studies at the institution.
According to eyewitness reports, a truck allegedly linked to the Dangote Group ran into her, leaving her critically injured.
She was first rushed to Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, where doctors had to amputate her left leg in a desperate attempt to save her life. Later, she was transferred to Lagoon Hospital in Lagos for more advanced treatment.
During this period, Phyna had publicly appealed for her sister to be flown abroad for further medical care. Sadly, Ruth did not survive the complications from the accident.
The heartbreaking news has left fans of the reality star and her family in deep mourning.
