A prominent Plateau State cleric, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has warned that former presidential aide Reno Omokri will not escape divine punishment for publicly disputing reports of killings of Christians in the state.
Omokri has repeatedly denied that Christians are being targeted in Nigeria, particularly in Plateau State, and has invited international fact‑finding teams to investigate, arguing that claims of an ongoing campaign are exaggerated.
After Fulani militants killed scores of people in parts of Plateau a few months ago, Omokri posted on X (formerly Twitter) that only 17 people had died; he later deleted ... following heavy criticism and issued no apology.
Rev. Dachomo, the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, issued the warning in a video he shared on his Facebook page on Thursday.
He accused critics of “spitting on the graves of innocent people” and said those who deny the killings would be held to account by God if they did not repent.
“There is genocide and I have evidence to prove this. I have pictures of innocent people killed, including little children,” Rev. Dachomo said.
“Very soon I will hold a press conference to talk about this. I will present that his small children are among those killed. I will present the recent killings that the Nigerian government does not want the world to know.”
Speaking emotionally, he added, “That man called Reno Omokri, who came out and said there is no genocide in Nigeria, I have already cursed him.
“He will never know peace down to his grave. The blood of the people that has entered my brain, I have transferred them into his life. He will not escape.”
Rev. Dachomo called on Omokri and others who deny the killings to repent. “If Reno Omokri will repent… those kinds of Christians that came out and say there’s no genocide, if they don’t repent, they will all face the wrath of God,” he said.
