The governor of Plateau State has sent a supplementary budget to the House of Assembly.

The budget proposal pegged at N74,605,413,000 is expected to help the state government cover financial lapses for the 2025 fiscal year.

The letter was addressed to the leadership of the House and read on the floor of the plenary by the Speaker, Naanlong Daniel on Friday.

According to the governor, the supplementary budget, if approved, would help the state focus on expanding critical infrastructure and deepen the state’s social cohesion.

To his request, the Majority Leader, Joseph Gokum moved a motion suspending Order 13 Rule 2.

Gokum’s motion seconded by the minority leader, Gabriel Dewan allowed the bill to proceed immediately.

It was further approved through a voice vote by members of the House – passing its first and second readings.

The new bill was further sent to the House Committee on Appropriations for collaboration with other committees and recommendations.
