Player ratings: How the Super Falcons performed in Ajibade-inspired victory over Cameroon

The Super Falcons of Nigeria came out on top of their friendly clash with the Lionesses of Cameroon courtesy of a comfortable 2-0 victory at the MKO Abiola Stadium on Tuesday, Footynaija.com reports.

Nigeria’s captain Rasheedat Ajibade bagged two first half goals to cap off a dominant performance that saw the Falcons register their 15th win over the Lionesses in 21 meetings between both sides.

Footynaija.com takes a look at how each Falcon fared against the Lionesses in Abeokuta.

GK: Chiamaka Nnadozie – 7.0

Nnadozie didn’t have much to do all game but she maintained her sharpness and was on hand to deny Cameroon a late consolation goal in stoppage time.

LB: Miracle Usani – 6.8

Usani was solid defensively, helping the Falcons to a clean sheet after 90 minutes.

CB: Oluwatosin Demeyin – 7.0

Demeyin was a rock at the heart of defense as the Super Falcons minimized Cameroon’s attacking threats for the best part of 90 minutes.

CB: Sikiratu Isah – 7.0

Isah, just like Demeyin, marshalled Nigeria’s defensive third with calmness and composure as they kept the Lionesses at bay for most of the game.

RB: Michelle Alozie – 6.8

It was another good outing in Super Falcons’ colours for Alozie, who diligently played her part in helping the team to a clean sheet and a win.

MF: Jennifer Echegini – 7.0

Echegini was a vital part of a midfield combo that seized control of proceedings and dictated the flow of the game, helping Nigeria to dominate for most parts of the game.

MF: Deborah Abiodun – 7.0

It was an impressive outing for Abiodun, who was easily one of the best players on the pitch for the Super Falcons. She was key to Nigeria’s dominance in the middle of the park.

AMF: Rasheedat Ajibade – 7.5

Nigeria’s star turn in the game, the Super Falcons skipper led by example as she bagged both goals of the game to secure victory for her side.

RW: Toni Payne – 6.8

The Everton star was a constant threat to the opposition backline, frequently creating dangerous attacking situations in the final third. Unfortunately, she was unable to get a goal for herself.

LW: Rinsola Babajide – 7.0

Babajide capped a fine display with the assist for Rasheedat Ajibade’s second goal.

ST: Ifeoma Onumonu – 6.5

Onumonu led the Super Falcons’ attack and caused trouble for the Cameroonian defense. However, she was substituted at half time with veteran forward Francisca Ordega coming on in her stead.
