PlayStation Plus New Free Game Is An "Absolute Gem"

ps plus logo

I’ve said it many times, but PlayStation Plus is stepping up its game for the fourth quarter of 2025. There seems to be something for everyone on the service, including a few hidden gems.

It’s rare that you get a hidden gem that’s also a straight-up comedy game, but I suspect this one isn’t on a lot of people’s radars, including this Reddit thread that showcases just how wild things can get. If you have PlayStation Plus, you owe it to yourself to try it out.

PlayStation Plus Gamers Have Found A Hidden Gem

It’s Nice When That Works Out

Thank Goodness You’re Here, developed by Coal Supper, is as irreverent as they come. Available now on PlayStation Plus as a PS Plus Extra title, your job is to wander around as a traveling salesman, and help the citizens of the English town of Barnsworth.

Similar to Stick it to The Man from Zoink Games, the core goal here is laughs and comedy, but the game itself is well-designed beyond that simple trick. The minigames present in Thank Goodness You’re Here are silly and have a ton of variety to them, which makes it perfect for a pick-up and play PS Plus gem.

Reddit user hapiru had the perfect summation for it: “For those wondering what this game is like, the best description I can think of is Monty Python meets Adult Swim meets Richard Scarry.” You can definitely get that vibe from the video above!

If You Need A Little Boost

Thank Goodness Person In Air

While Thank Goodness You’re Here may have been under the radar in some regions, it was beloved and celebrated over in the UK. It managed to win the British Game category in the British Academy Games Awards, and received five other nominations, including one for its animation. If you find yourself free on a rainy day, Thank Goodness You’re Here only takes roughly two hours to complete, which is perfect for a bonus PlayStation Plus game.

As a reminder, you’ll need PlayStation Plus Extra to access Thank Goodness You’re Here for free. That’s one tier above Essential (the lowest tier), and right below Premium. Essential provides access to the “Game Pass” equivalent from Sony, called the Game Catalog. If you’re not a PS Plus subscriber, you can also play this gem on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
