‘Please bury my husband’ – Mohbad’s widow begs father-in-law
Wunmi, the young widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has taken to social media to appeal to the public to urge her father-in-law to bury her husband.
Mohbad tragically passed away in September 2023, and his burial has yet to take place, leaving his widow heartbroken.
Wunmi has expressed her deep sorrow and frustration over the prolonged delay, emphasizing that he has been in the morgue for far too long.
“It has been 18 months. The heavens know how much I miss him. Every day I wake up to a reality filled with a pain I never asked for, the emptiness he left behind with every breath I take,” she shared.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Wunmi pleaded with the public to convince Mohbad’s father to give him a deserved and dignified burial.
“To the general public, I am begging you to help me ask my father-in-law to bury my husband. There is no reason or justification for his body to still be lying in the morgue after all this time. The man I vowed to love forever has been left in cold storage, denied the dignity of a final resting place.
I am not just a widow; I am a woman whose entire world was shattered in an instant. I am forced to carry not only my grief but also the weight of injustice, enduring the cruelty of those who see my pain as entertainment. I am now left with no choice but to beg—for my husband to be buried, for basic human decency, and for what should have been done long ago.”
It is noteworthy that Mohbad was initially buried the day after his death but was later exhumed for an autopsy and ongoing investigations, which remain unresolved after two years.
