Nintendo has given Pokémon Legends: Z-A players a fantastic free gift, which will certainly help them as they move into the content of the Mega Dimension DLC. The Generation 9 title set in Lumiose City was well received, with many praises of its gameplay mechanics and real-time elements applied to battles. After its release, Nintendo started giving away freebies, including Diancie in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, accompanied by its Mega Stone, Diancite.
Now, Nintendo has issued an Alpha Charizard distribution event for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, allowing players to claim a free copy of the Pokémon in its Alpha version without any extra requirements other than some progress through the main campaign. As seen on the official Legends: Z-A website, the free Alpha Charizard can be claimed via the Get with Code/Password function from Mystery Gift, by using the code B1G006. The distribution event is live and lasts until January 19, 2026.

Alpha Charizard is the first free gift after the Mewtwo giveaway in Pokémon Legends: Z-A in early December. The Pokémon will come at level 36, and will know the moves Solar Beam, Flamethrower, Dragon Claw, and Air Slash. If you’re in the early stages of the game, you may be able to redeem the free Alpha Charizard, but you’ll need to progress through the campaign and advance through the Z-A Royale to have it obey your commands in battle.
While it does not necessarily have better base stats than a regular Charizard, its status as an Alpha does grant it guaranteed Best IVs in at least three of its stats, and its EVs make it easier to train. Even if it may not seem so at the start, the free Alpha Charizard may prove to be better than one you already have. This will become evident as you train it and start using any of the Mega Charizard forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, too.
The Legends: Z-A DLC Will Have Level Caps Beyond 100
Even though it does come at level 36, which is fairly low, Alpha Charizard could become a powerful tool for you to use in the Mega Dimension DLC. Mega Dimension introduces new level caps and Hyper Strong Pokémon, which will prove to be a huge endgame challenge for Legends: Z-A players, and having the best and most optimized Pokémon will help you get through the expansion.
Alpha Charizard is a superb gift, even if it’s not a Shiny Pokémon or a Legendary or Mythical creature. Charizard itself is the most popular Pokémon of all time, and having it in its Alpha form in a game where it can Mega Evolve, namely Pokémon Legends: Z-A, is a great reason to use it.
