The Police in Lagos on Monday, arraigned a 25-year-old man, Sunday Oresanya in Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing six aluminium glass.

 The Police in Lagos on Monday, arraigned a 25-year-old man, Sunday Oresanya in Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing six aluminium glass.

The defendant whose address is unknown was charged with stealing and breach of peace, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Aug.12 at about 7.30.a.m, at Anikwu Estate, Ore Meta Aradagun, Badagry in Lagos.

Ekpo alleged that the defendant stole six pieces of aluminium glass, value of which is unknown, and which was the property of Felix Olabanji, the complainant.

“The defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by causing pandemonium. He was arrested in his home and handed over to the Police for prosecution,” he said.

According to Ekpo, the offence contravenes the provisions of Sections 287 and 168 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Nurudeen Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He said that one of the sureties must be a community leader just as he adjourned the case until Oct .2, for mention. (NAN)
