Police arraign teenager for allegedly breaking into man’s shop

One Quoyumu Abass, was on Wednesday, arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly breaking into a man’s shop.

Abass, whose address was not provided was charged with theft, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Insp Adeshina Folaranmi, had told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 29, at about 9.30 a.m, at New Garage, Ibadan.

He alleged that the defendant broke into the shop of one Mr Hammed Azeez and stole the shop gate, gas cylinder and measurement gauge.

He said that the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 and two reliable sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Aug. 21, for hearing. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
