Police Foil Planned Cult War In Rivers State University, Arrests 3 Suspects, Recover Gun

Police operatives attached to Azikiwe Police Division and Octopus tactical unit foiled a planned cult war at one of the Universities in Rivers state on Thursday 17th,July,2025 following supremacy and territorial control battle between suspected Klu Klux Klans,KKK and Vikings cult groups of the University at Opobo lane/Azikiwe Street,Mile 2 Diobu,PortHarcourt

We gathered that members of one of the cult group who were on their way to the main campus of the University to unleash violence and terror on their opponents,came in contact with their rivals along Azikiwe/Opobolane street, Mile 2 Diobu when they engaged themselves in a shoot out.

Eyewitnesses say business owners and passersby scampered for safety even as some hurriedly closed for the day as the clash ensued.

Our source disclosed that timely intervention of the Azikiwe Police Division and Octopus strike Force Police unit that arrested three suspected student cultists involved in the clash brought the situation under control.

Our source disclosed that one of the arrested suspects is a final year student of one of the Universities in Rivers State.

Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command,SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the incident.
SP Koko said “yes I can confirm the incident.Three suspects were arrested.One English made revolver pistol,one live ammunition and three expanded ammunition were recovered in the bag of the suspects.
“Investigation is ongoing with a view to arresting fleeing members of the cult groups”.
