Police Give Update On ‘Gospel Singer’ Caught With Severed Head Of Girlfriend

A Nigerian gospel singer, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, has been identified as the ‘Yahoo boy’ who severed the head of his girlfriend.

Naijaonpoint reported that the suspect was arrested in Agwan Sarki, Orozo—a border area between Nasarawa State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for allegedly killing his girlfriend for ritual purposes.

Ajayi was apprehended following an intelligence tip-off that led security agents to an uncompleted building in the area.

A viral video on social media captured some community members interrogating the suspect, who admitted to the crime during the confrontation.

The Secretary of the Orozo Community, Abwami Nuhuson Daniel, confirmed the incident in a post shared on Facebook. He recounted his disbelief upon witnessing the events.

Daniel, while speaking on the incident, said, “I got the shock of my life as we apprehended a ‘Yahoo’ ritualist with a human head (his girlfriend) inside a nylon bag in Agwan Sarki, Orozo, FCT.”

Confirming the incident to Daily Trust, the Police Public Relations Officer in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Josephine Adeh, said the suspect has been arrested.

She emphasised that the incident did not happen in Abuja and urged the public to disseminate an accurate report.

She said, “To clarify, the incident above did not occur in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) but in Nasarawa State. We kindly urge everyone to ensure accuracy in such reports for better public understanding.”
