The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, has handed over cheques to families of deceased officers under the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Scheme.
Presenting the cheques at the command headquarters in Jos, CP Adesina conveyed the condolences of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to the bereaved families.
The cheques, amounting to over ₦9 million, were given in honour of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
The commissioner acknowledged that while the financial support may not ease their pain or bring back their loved ones, it stands as a gesture of gratitude for the officers’ sacrifice.
He also advised the families to spend the money wisely.
