The Nigeria Police Force has begun an investigation into a disturbing video showing a woman giving alcohol to a child.
The viral clip seen by Naijaonpoint showed the woman believed to be the child’s mother, feeding the little boy an alcoholic drink.
According to the woman, she gave the child alcohol to help him sleep at night.
Reacting to the video, the police, in a statement on X, urged anyone with useful information that could help in tracking down the woman to reach out.
The statement reads: “We are aware of this distressing video and are investigating urgently. Exposing a child to alcohol is illegal and dangerous. We urge #ChuksEricE and any member of the public with valuable information that could lead to the swift apprehension of this “mother” to not hesitate to provide same. They can reach out to us on 09169967000. The child’s safety is our priority.”
Meanwhile, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a notorious drug trafficker in Lagos, identified as Ajetsibo Emami, also known as ‘Warri Kinsman’.
This was made known in a statement issued by the NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, on Sunday.
The suspected trafficker was arrested on Saturday, June 28, in the Ikeja area of Lagos.
Acting on a tip-off, NDLEA operatives moved in as he tried to move a drug consignment from Ikeja to Lekki.
He was caught alongside three others, and 24 jumbo bags containing 681 pouches of Canadian Loud, a potent cannabis strain weighing 414.2kg, were seized.
