The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into the suspected suicide of a 30-year-old man, identified as Ik Ojo, who was found dead in his residence in Kagini, Dei-Dei area of Abuja.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Command, SP Josephine Adeh, the incident occurred on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, after the command received a distress call.

“The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on 5th August 2025 received a distress call reporting the suspected suicide of one Ik Ojo (male, 30) who was found hanging in his residence at Kagini, Dei-Dei area of the FCT,” Adeh said.

She added that officers from the Dei-Dei Division promptly responded to the call and evacuated the victim to Kubwa General Hospital.

“He was confirmed dead by a medical doctor, and the body has since been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy,” Adeh stated.

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, has ordered a discreet probe into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“The Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further details will be communicated as the investigation progresses,” Adeh added.

Meanwhile, the Department of State Service (DSS) have written a letter to X (Twitter) demanding the immediate removal of a tweet posted by human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, within 24 hours.

The letter from B. Bamigboye, representing the Director General of State Services, addressed to the Chairman and CEO of X Corp., Elon Musk. It demands the immediate removal of a tweet posted by Omoyele Sowore on August 25, 2025, via his verified X handle.

Naijaonpoint reports that the tweet in question allegedly disparages the President Tinubu, claiming he lied about the absence of corruption in his regime during a trip to Brazil.

The letter argues that this tweet constitutes misleading information, hate speech, incitement to violence, and a threat to national security, violating Nigerian laws including the Criminal Code Act and the Cyber Crimes Act 2025.

The DSS accused Sowore of intentionally harming the President’s reputation and Nigeria’s image, potentially inciting unrest among the President’s supporters.
