Police release names of three children who died East Ham fire

The Metropolitan Police have released the names of three children who died in a fire in East Ham in London.

They are 13-year-old boy Nakash Malik, 11-year-old girl Aayat Malik and 7 year-old boy Muhammad Hanan Malik.

Their parents, Khurram Malik and Naumana Gul Khan, said of their children said the lives of their children were a blessing and treasured their memory.

They said their children were loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

“Your lives were a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. May you rest in peace in God’s heaven,” they said.

According to Met Police, officers continue to investigate the cause of the fire alongside London Fire Brigade colleagues.

The police said at this stage, there is no evidence to indicate suspicious circumstances.

Detective Chief Inspector Jonathan Burks said the deaths of the children had caused “upset” in what was already a devastating incident for the local community and beyond.

He added: “Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected.”
